HTC HD2 Now Running Windows RT after Windows Phone 8 and others

HTC HD2 can run Windows RT

We have already known that HTC’s flagship device HD2 was the first Windows Phone with a capacitive multi touch screen, and it had the largest screen in the market. The device is famous for running different Operating system. The device released in November 2009 with Windows Mobile 6.5 has been successfully hacked with every OS including Windows Phone 7, 7.5 and 7.8, Linux, Windows Mobile in addition to Android.

Back in November, the device has been successfully hacked with the latest Microsoft’s Windows Phone 8 Operating System. There was no further information on how the device was accomplished and it just showed only a handful of photos as evidence.

Today, a hacker by the name of CotullaCode (from the Dark Forces Team) was able to get a UEFI implementation running on the HTC HD2, and run Windows RT on the device. But there is no instruction on how he managed to run and how well it works successfully. From his twitter profile, we have got several screenshots of the Operating system in action.

HTC D2 has a Qualcomm Snapdragon QSD8250 processor at 1024MHz. It has 1GB ROM, 576MB RAM, and has a microSD/HC expansion slot to expand the internal memory. The capacitive touchscreen is 4.3-inch with a WVGA 480×800 resolution. It’s a Quad band GSM (850/900/1800/1900) phone with dual band UMTS (1700/2100) with HSDPA and HSUPA. It also has assisted GPS, Wi-Fi b/g, Bluetooth 2.1 + EDR, USB 2.0, an accelerometer, FM radio, proximity sensor, and a digital compass.
