Sony Xperia Z Press Shot Leaked with On-Screen Navigation Buttons

Sony Xperia Z Press Shot Leak

We’ve already seen plenty of evidence of the upcoming Android flagship from Sony over the past few months, including an early review of the handset. Today we’ve presented a new press shot showing off the Sony C660X Yuga aka Xperia Z (which we presume is a final brand name) with on-screen navigation buttons leaks out, ahead of the smartphone’s expected launch this year at CES 2013 event. The device in the above image might be as legit as we hoped.

Sony Xperia Z will be joining the club of 5-inch 1080 FHD Android club very soon. Sony is al set to launch the  Xperia Z phablet with a 5-inch 1920x1080p display to compete with HTC Droid DNA/Butterfly, Huawei Ascend D2, Oppo Find 5 and ZTE Grand S and the much awaited Samsung Galaxy S IV. The device will have all the exciting features and it is believed to pack a 1.7GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 Pro APQ8064 quad-core processor, Adreno 320 GPU, 2GB RAM and 13 megapixel shooter with HDR mode on back side, holding 32GB of internal storage under the hood.

Up front, there’s a 2MP camera, and its massive 5-inch 1080p display uses ‘OptiContrast’ technology for low-light reflectivity, and it will come with 7.9mm chassis, as well as IP57 (or IPP5) certification for dust and water resistance and the device looks to be running at least Android 4.1.2 Jelly Bean OS.

The source also claims that the Xperia Z will be reportedly launching on next Monday, January 6th. FYI, Sony is rumored to launch a dual-version of this beast as Xperia X (also known as Sony C650X Odin), going by the code name ‘Odin’. As we get closer to the launch date of the Xperia Z, more and more leaks will be revealed.
