Yesterday, Taiwan-based manufacturer, Gigabyte unveiled two slate Windows 8 tablets. Now Japanese manufacturer, Panasonic is set to show off its new tablets at the International CES event. Panasonic has debuted two Toughpad tablets, FZ-G1 and JT-B1. The first one is powered by Microsoft’s Windows 8 operating system and the second one an Android 4.2 powered tablet.
The FZ-G1 tablet is the world’s thinnest and lightest rugged Windows 8 tablet and it comes with a 10.1-inch of IPS display which is powered by Ivy Bridge Processor with a 128GB SSD (upgradeable to 256GB), microSd card, Bluetooth 4.0, 802.11 a/b/g/n WiFi and more. The tablet has a replaceable extended battery, cradle dock, 360-degree handle case, digitizer pen and more. In appearance, this tablet is very similar to the Android powered Toughpad A1 tablet.
Another tablet, the 7-inch display, JT-B1 is running Android 4.2 Jelly Bean mobile operating system under the hood. It has a 1,024 x 600 display, packed with a 1.5GHz dual-core TI OMAP 4660, 16GB of internal storage (which is expandable up to 32GB via microSD card) and 1GB of RAM, a 13-megapixel rear-facing camera and a 1.3-megapixel front-facing camera, a 5,720mAh battery and more.
The 10.1-inch and 7-inch tablets will be available in March and February for $2,900 and $1300 respectively.
