Lenovo launched an 11-inch Windows RT tablet, the IdeaPad Yoga 11S recently at CES 2013 in Las Vegas. The device is packed with an Intel Core i5 processor. In addition to this newly launched device, Lenovo seems to expand its Yoga family.
A new report reveals that Lenovo is preparing to launch an Android powered notebook/tablet convertible and it will be launched by the manufacturer within the first half of this year. The device will be powered by either Intel or ARM-based processor.
The upcoming Yoga device is expected to be something similar to the IdeaPad Yoga 11S which is an ultraportable Windows RT notebook with a dual display that allows it to fold into multiple positions- converting into a tablet form-factor. It has an 11.6-inch multi touch display with a 1366 x 768 resolution, packed with Nvidia’s Tegra 3 processor, 32GB of internal storage and expandable up to 64GB via microSD card, and more.
Lenovo had already planned to launch a Medfield-based tablet as well, the device is codenamed as MFLD-DV10. It will be running Android operating system. They expected to introduce this Android tablet in the third quarter of last year but it was delayed due to production of new iPads and Windows RT/8 tablets as well as huge number of production of low-priced Android tablets last year. Recently, they claimed that they will start producing Windows Phone 8 smartphones as well this year.
