[Rumor] LG halts Google Nexus 4 production for Nexus 5

Back in November 2012, the Google Nexus 4 handset went up for initial sale on Play Store and was sold out in just 24 minutes. In January this year also, the 8GB and 16GB variants of the Google Nexus 4 were out of stock in Google Play Store. A report has claimed that LG has stopped the Google Nexus 4 production in favor of next-generation Nexus devices.

Recently, at the Consumer Electronics Show 2013 in Las Vegas, LG’s senior Vice President, James Fisher stated that the Google Nexus 4 was the first of many Nexus devices that they were working on. This means LG is preparing to unveil a new Nexus branded smartphone and now the device is in development. It is rumored that LG will debut the next Nexus device during Mobile World Congress 2013 which will be held in Barcelona, Spain.

It is expected that the next-gen Nexus will be powered by a Quad-Core Processor based on either of the latest CPU technologies from Qualcomm or Nvidia. It is also further claimed that the device will have a high battery power, a highly-improved rear camera, and it will be running Android 5.0 which is expected to be the future version of Android mobile operating system and rumored to be called as Key Lime Pie, .

LG is also planning to unveil other handsets at the MWC this year.
