Sony Xperia Tablet Z Specs Leak

If you might recall, in mid of the last year, Sony has announced the Xperia Tablet S (sales halted later due to some issues), along with the former flagship Xpeira T. Earlier this month, the company has announced Xperia Z and Xperia ZL handsets at CES this year, which are due to release in the coming months. There’s a hardware specifications leak (courtesy of Xperia_Info’s Twitter feed) to excite us on a particular upcoming Android tablet. That means, there’s a much more interesting device in the manufacturer’s pipeline. Some reliable sources are citing that Sony is currently working on the Xperia Tablet Z.

According to the source, the Xperia Tablet Z will come with a 10.1-inch Full HD display with 1920 by 1080 pixels of resolution. Google’s latest Nexus 10 has full HD display with much better resolution. Underneath the hood, you will find a quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 processor clocked at 1.5 GHz, 2 GB of RAM, 32 GB of built-in storage, and a beefy 6,000mAh battery. All that packed into a thinness of just 6.9 mm, amazingly. This tablet is said to fit into a case that’s just 6.9mm. There’s a 2MP front-facing camera capable of shooting video calls, while at the back the the tablet will make use of an 8-megapixel main camera, which is capable of shooting 1080p at 30fps. There’s no mention of a MicroSD card.

Other specs on the Tablet Z include Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.0, NFC functionality, LTE connectivity for the tablet. It is also waterproof and dustproof, thanks to the IP57 rating (the same rating also seen in the Xperia Z and ZL), and will ship with the Android 4.1 Jelly Bean OS out of the box.
