Sprint’s first Windows Phone 8 device from HTC hits the FCC

FCC approved a mysterious Windows Phone 8 device from HTC

Last week, Sprint showed on its official website that they will start introducing Windows Phone 8 smartphone by summer 2013. Meanwhile, an HTC device has been approved by the FCC and it is shown that the device having model number, PL80110 will be powered by Windows Phone 8 operating system.

But the model number given in the FCC docs seems to be similar to the model number of HTC One SV which sports a 4.3 inch Super LCD 2 display, dual-core 1.2GHz processor, 1GB of RAM and 8GB of internal storage, a microSD card to expand the internal memory, and 1800mAh battery. The device is running Google’s Android 4.0.4 ICS mobile operating system  and packed with Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 Processor.

According to FCC document, this version of the HTC One SV supports LTE Band 25 which is the spectrum used by Sprint but the actual HTC One SV device has no LTE capability. It is also further shown that the device includes WCDMA bands II and V, GSM bands 850 and 1900, dual-band Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and NFC.

Recently, Cricket launched the HTC One SV in the US which has a model number PL80120 and the one shown on the FCC Doc has PL80110. The FCC mentions this equipment as a Windows Phone, but the model number suggests a variant of the HTC One SV.
