We’ve seen jelly Bean update making its way for the Galaxy S III editions to many nations globally, but it’s been a long time coming for the Samsung Galaxy S II, the handset which is still dealing with ICS. Hasn’t it Galaxy S II owners? If you have a two-year old Galaxy S II, it’s time to eagerly start hitting the "check updates" button on your device, Sammy has began pushing Android 4.1.2 Jelly Bean update for the Galaxy S II.

The update is currently rolling out to the international GSM version of the handset (GT-I9100) only, and Spain based Galaxy S II is one of the first countries to receive it at the moment. The update bumps the build number up to JZ054K.19100XWLS8.

The update is set to bring many of the features for Galaxy S II that make you feel so great, including Google Now, Project Butter functionality for smoother UI, a couple of homescreen modes (Basic Mode, and Easy Mode). new notification toggles, resizable widgets, camera improvements, and many more. You will also get the new Nature UX, along with a set of application such as Direct Call, Pop-Up Video Player, Smart Stay, and improved TouchWiz widgets

If Jelly Bean is what you’ve been waiting for and if you haven’t received it yet, you can try to manually check for it by heading into Settings > About phone to see if it’s available on your device. If you are not OTA type, you can also use teh Samsung’s Kies software to install the Jelly Bean update on your device.

There’s no word as to when users in other parts of the world could see the update, but considering it is already showing off in Spain, we expect it should be fairly soon. Sit tight, we’ll keep you informed when it hits other countries.
