Yesterday, we reported about BlackBerry’s plans to offer limited edition of the BlackBerry Z10 full touch phone in red color for the developers, who will submit their apps to BlackBerry World by February 28th. earlier this month, we’ve heard that they will start distributing Z10 phones with QWERTY keyboard to developers after launching its new operating system and new phones. As we said earlier, the company also announced a special edition of the BlackBerry Z10 phone for developers at its Jam European event held in Amsterdam. The device is QWERTY-equipped BlackBerry Z10, and it will be called BlackBerry Z10 Dev Alpha C.

This device will help the developers to build applications for the BlackBerry devices with physical keyboards, and those apps would be made available for the launch of the BlackBerry Q10 keyboard phone later this year. BlackBerry Z10 Dev Alpha C is sporting a similar squarish display, and physical keyboard beneath it.

Along with BB Z10 Dev Alpha C phone, BlackBerry also announced its WebWorks SDK, which has the support for physical keyboards work “just as if (input) came from the virtual keyboard on a BlackBerry Z10”, and it lets developers to create applications for both new BlackBerry smartphones with “very little effort.” Developers will also find a new BlackBerry Q10 simulator. If you want to your hands on the Dev Alpha C, you must have an app ready in the Blackberry World by end of this month.

On the other side, several reliable sources are reporting that there will be improved Android app porting process in the near time, and Blackberry 10′s Android runtime will be getting an upgrade to Android 4.1 Jelly Bean. Blackberry 10′s Android runtime is a compatibility layer that lets Blackberry 10 devices to run Android apps. If its true, there won’t be no shortage of great apps on Blackberry World for the new BlackBerry 10 phones. The source has failed to mention about when exactly the Blackberry 10′s Android runtime will get its upgrade to Android 4.1 Jelly Bean.
