Back in January, this year, from a Brazilian website, it was confirmed that Google is preparing to unveil Android 4.2.2 which is a slightly updated version of existing Android 4.2.1 mobile operating system.
The leaked image shown above shows the Google Nexus 4 is running this upcoming Android version. It is the first evidence which showed the Google’s Android 4.2.2 version is going to be released. Google is also likely to announce the updated version in the coming weeks, either in February or in March. But earlier, just after Google announced its new Android 4.2 Jelly Bean version in October, last year, many sources had started claiming that Google will introduce a new mobile OS Android 5.0 instead of considering about the 4.2.2. This 5.0 version is likely to be called Key Lime Pie and it is expected to be unveiled at Google I/O 2013 event which will be held from May 15-17 in San Francisco.
Besides the above information, folks at AndroidAuthority have reported that the Galaxy Nexus, Nexus 4, Nexus 7 and Nexus 10 have shown up in their web server logs running Android 4.2.2.
The Galaxy Nexus and Nexus 4 show up with Android 4.2.2 JDQ23, JDQ29C, and JOQ10A and Android 4.2.2 JDQ23, JDQ29C, JDQ30, JDP71B, and JDP79B respectively in the server.
The Nexus 7 has been listed with Android 4.2.2 JDQ23, JDQ32B, and JDQ18. Lastly, Nexus 10 visit web server on builds JDQ23, JDP73, and JDQ32B.
Google is reportedly testing the Android 4.2.2 build internally on various Nexus devices including the Nexus 4, Nexus 7, Nexus 10 and the Galaxy Nexus.
