Sony Xperia Z Now Available in Japan via NTT DoCoMo

If you are residing in Japan and if you’ve been patiently waiting for the Sony Xperia Z since it was made official at CES expo earlier this year, now it’s your time to rejoice. The new Xperia Z is simply gorgeous and is now available for purchase in Japan through NTT DoCoMo network. The model number for this version is being referred as SO-02E.

The Xperia Z will pack a 5-inch 1080p Reality display, running with Android 4.1 Jelly Bean on a quad-core processor accompanied by 2 gigabytes of RAM, a rear-facing 13.1MP Fast Capture camera with Exmor RS sensor for mobile and video HDR mode, a front-facing camera with Exmor R sensor, NFC functionality, high-level of dust (IP5X) and water resistance (IPX5/7) capability, BT 4.0, Wi-Fi a/b/g/n, and it will be upgradeable to Android 4.2 very soon.

Japanese Xperia Z version will come with some exclusive preinstalled apps such as One Seg Tuner, FeliCa NFC, docomo palette UI, infrared port, and some other localized software features too. Recent reports claim that Xperia Z can capture a total of 999 pictures in just 68 seconds using Burst mode. In fact, Sony has said that the device can take an unlimited number of 9MP images at a rate of 10 per second.
