New Evidence Confirms 6.3-inch Display for Samsung Galaxy Note III

Samsung Game Pad

Earlier this year in January, we first heard about the rumored display size of the yet to be released Samsung Galaxy Note III as 6.3-inches. and a few days ago, Korea Times has reported the company may be working on Note III with a 5.9-inch display. According to a new evidence, we’ll see a 6.3-inch device from the manufacturer, a device that is reportedly the Galaxy Note II, which is heading to release at some point later this fall.

Thanks to Samsung. The manufacturer has detailed the list of the Galaxy S4’s accessories. Samsung Game Pad is one of the accessories ready for the Galaxy S4. Game Pad has been specified as compatible with devices having screen sizes from 4″ to 6.3″. Now, the Galaxy S4 has joined the 5-inch Android club, Samsung doesn’t have any other handset with that extra large size of a display. Galaxy Note II is currently rocking a 5.5-inch display with 720p resolution. So, Samsung should come up with an extra large display for the next iteration of the Galaxy Note device to make sure it will differentiate itself from the Galaxy S4 and Note II devices. The 6.3-inch Note III will be much bigger than most smartphones/Notes on the market and I bet it will no longer be able to use it one handed for most functions, and we can call it a tablet, not a phablet.

Users can clamp the Game Pad onto their smartphones and it consists console-style hardware game controls for better gaming experience.

Galaxy Note III with 6.3" Size, Octa-Core SoC

Earlier rumors have suggested that Galaxy Note III will carry the new eight-core Exynos 5 Octa SoC, which features a total of eight cores. Samsung has used the same Exynos Octa-core processor for the newly unveiled Galaxy S4 smartphone. Sammy will release an edition of the 1.6GHz Octa-core edition of the Galaxy S4 in some of the international markets, while other regions (like U.S.) will get 1.9GHz Snapdragon 600 quad-core processor powered Galaxy S4 devices. Some rumors also have that Samsung is planning to ditch the AMOLED display technology for the Note III, instead it will go for a Sharp LCS for a better S-Pen experience. We guess Note III will finally make its resolution up to 1080p.

There is a high possibility that we could see the Galaxy Note III making its first official appearance at IFA stage in August this year.
