A recent Federal Communications Commission filing has revealed that the most awaited Samsung Galaxy S4 handset headed Verizon’s way. According to this approval, Galaxy S4 may soon be sold by Verizon in the US. Samsung Galaxy S4 is going to hit various markets in the near future, with Verizon, Sprint, AT&T, and T-Mobile being among the confirmed U.S. based major wireless carriers that will sell it in the coming months.
Verizon’s edition of the Galaxy S4 that features the model number SCH-I545 has been recently stopped at FCC labs. The model numbering scheme used by Samsung/Verizon would suggest that this is none other than Samsung Galaxy S4. Verizon’s Galaxy S III has carried model number of SCH-I535 in last year. According to FCC docs, Verizon’s Galaxy S4 includes support for LTE band 13. FCC paperwork also included approval for AWS LTE band 4 support, which Verizon will begin using for its LTE network this year. Verizon’s AWS LTE band 4 will have with HSPA support for global roaming. FCC has also included an outline image of the device.
Unfortunately, some of these U.S. based mobile operators haven’t mentioned any availability dates and contract price ranges for the Galaxy S4 yet. T-Mobile has officially confirmed that it will have it in stock from May 1st and will begin taking pre-orders this month. AT&T’s edition of the Galaxy S4 pre-order availability has been set for April 16th and it will cost $249 on a 2-year contract. U.S. Cellular will begin offering pre-registration on April 16th for the device at an unknown price tag. Hopefully, Verizon will also open the pre-order gates for its edition of the Galaxy S4 in the coming days or very soon.
