We reported that Facebook started sending out invitations for an Android related event which will take place at 10 AM PT on April 4. But it is not yet known whether Facebook will unveil just an Android app or a Facebook phone.
An alleged leaked ROM of the Facebook phone was spotted online. The ROM reveals that Facebook will be releasing just a launcher not a customized Android Version.
The HTC Myst was already rumored to be manufactured for Facebook. The Leaked ROM shows a Facebook Home. The Facebook for Android will probably be run on top of HTC Sense 4.
The Facebook phone appears to be a mid-range phone which will reportedly be powered by a dual-core processor with a 720p 4.3-inch display. The device will sport a 1GB RAM, 5MP rear-facing camera, 1.6MP front-facing camera and it will be running Google’s Android 4.1.2 Jelly Bean.
The speculated Facebook launcher will work just as a normal launcher available in the Play Store. This launcher will make your Home as Facebook and will give some extra permission to the Facebook app such as changing Wi-Fi settings etc.
We will have to wait till Thursday to know what exactly Facebook is planning.
