It looks like this week just turned out be lucky week for owners of the Samsung Galaxy S II Skyrocket SGH-i727 on AT&T USA, as it’s been revealed out that the handset’s Android 4.1.2 Jelly Bean update is now available for pickup and download. Samsung has added information about the update rollout process to its official support webpage. The update bumps the Galaxy S II Skyrocket handset with new Android OS version, v 4.1.2 Jelly Bean and the update also brings the new baseband version I727UCMC1.
The new firmware update for GSII Skyrocket is carrying all the Jelly Bean goodies along with AT&T specific features. So, you will be getting Google Now, Project Butter, resizable widgets, enhanced notifications, addition of the new Drive Mode, AT&T Locker, Mobile Hot Spot, and it also remove a couple of the pre-loaded application from the handset. Project Butter feature lets this incredibly smooth device even smoother. Of course, Samsung’s own TouchWiz will still be on-board.

As the update is weighing in big size (nearly 1GB), it is being now distributed through Samsung’s own Kies desktop software. You’ll have to plug in your handset to a PC machine via an USB cable and follow the onscreen instructions to grab the Jelly Bean update. Hopefully, the update will also be made available via OTA in the coming days. So, you’ll have to manually checking for the update by heading into Settings > General > About phone > Software Update and check for new updates.
