The affordable Nokia Lumia 521 Windows Phone 8 handset announced by Nokia and T-Mobile back at Mobile World congress event in February. T-Mobile has officially confirmed the availability details of its Lumia 521 handset. The entry-level spec’d Nokia Lumia 521 will be available at T-Mobile locations, Microsoft Stores, and Walmart starting in May. However, the carrier has failed to provide information on exact release date and pricing of the handset.
It’s good to hear that the Lumia 521 will finally be hitting the shelves of a U.S. operator soon, and with a specs list which includes a super sensitive 4-inch 800×480 LCD display (you can operate it with a glove on your hands), a dual-core processor clocked at 1GHz, 5 megapixel rear facing camera to help you record 720p HD videos, 8GB memory storage with microSD card slot support, half gigabytes of RAM, 42Mbps HSPA+ connectivity, 9 hours of battery life, and it boots Windows Phone 8 OS out of the box.
Unfortunately, it’s not yet clear which colore versions of the Lumia 521 handsets T-Mobile will be stocking. T-Mobile confirms that it’ll share release date and pricing details at a later date.
