It looks like the rumored Nokia Lumia 928 handset is almost certainly going to be unveiled very soon. By the time the handset’s unveiling event happens in the near future, we might already know everything about the new device. According to the latest reports, the Finnish mobile makers are preparing to officially unveil the new Nokia Lumia 928 handset on April 25th, which will make its way to United States via Verizon Wireless network.

The tipster also mentioned the Lumia 928 is expected to hit the stores either on May 2 or May 9. If you might remember, Stephen Elop at a meeting with investors, has said that a brand new Lumia phone is expected to have “hero status with a leading US carrier”, and it could hit stores later this quarter. It’s good to see that Nokia is betting on Verizon Wireless, (other than AT&T) to carry the high-end spec’d Lumia 928 as a serious attempt for conquering the US market.

Several sources and all the previous leaks are suggesting that the Nokia Lumia 928 will be closely related to the AT&T’s exclusive Lumia 920, and it is also being referred as a thinner and lighter alternative for the Lumia 920. According to recently leaked images of the Lumia 928 parts, the device is going to be 5mm taller than L920. We heard that Nokia is readying the Lumia 928 with Samsung-made 4.5″ Super AMOLED display with Gorilla Glass protection. If this information holds true, they are ditching their own PureMotion HD+ LCD display.

Rumors have that the device will be made out of aluminum, and comes equipped with a Xenon flash, (not the dual LED flash the Lumia 920 had), which will help to improve imagine quality in low-light situations. Verizon will sell this device in multiple colors. So far, no worthy proof has been found that Nokia will ditch the Lumia 920’s polycarbonate unibody for an aluminum outfit on L928.
