Huawei Ascend W1 was officially announced at the CES 2013 event. The device is up for sale in different markets around the world. But the device is not available in the US yet. Today, the smartphone has been announced officially for US region. It is believed that the smartphone will be available for sale in the US this month.
Microsoft’s Windows Phone 8 operating system is the platform of the smartphone. The device having a 4-inch Gorilla IPS LCD touchscreen display is packed with a 1.2GHz dual core processor with a 5 MP auto-focus camera on the rear of the device with 4X digital zoom and LED flash, and a VGA camera on the front. In order to power the device, Huawei packs a 1950 mAh battery. The smartphone will sport only 1.7GB of internal storage which will be expandable via microSD slot. The Huawei Ascend W1 is the first Windows Phone 8 OS powered device from Huawei.
The device may be introduced in multiple colors – blue, red, black and white. In the US, the smartphone is expected to come to Walmart as well as on some selective stores. Official price tag of the device is not officially announced yet.
