Newly announced Sony Xperia ZR smartphone is packed with high-end specs and solid hardware under the hood. As the device is officially announced, it is right time to consider that in which markets, the device will be available for sale and what will be the price tag.
Regarding its availability, you may assume that it will be available globally in different markets for sale like the high-end smartphones, Sony Xperia Z and ZL. But the Sony Xperia ZR smartphone won’t be heading to the United Kingdom, Germany and France. The reason for this unavailability in those regions is not yet known. But it can be considered that the newly announced Sony Xperia ZR may cannibalize the sales of the Sony Xperia Z and ZL smartphones in the said competitive markets specially. Hence, its unavailability in the specified regions.
The Sony Xperia ZR sports a 4.55-inch Reality display with BRAVIA Engine 2 technology, powered by 1.5GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon APQ8064 processor, 2GB RAM, 13 megapixel rear-facing camera with Exmor RS for mobile and HDR to capture full HD videos under the water, a front facing camera, 8GB internal storage, a microSD card slot for memory expansion support, and more. It runs Google’s Android 4.1 Jelly Bean OS. The device also supports water resistant and dust resistant as the Sony Xperia Z smartphone and the Sony Xperia Tablet Z.
The Sony Xperia ZR is confirmed to be available in Hong Kong. It is expected to be available in Netherlands also. It will be offered in Black and White. Sony hasn’t announced the official pricing detail of the device yet. Further info is expected soon.
