Sony has finally and surprisingly announced it’s new portable hand-held gaming device, which can take the ganing to next level with it’s powerful hardware and 3G capabilities, PSP 2 — Next Generation PlayStation Portable; Code named as “NGP”. This event took place in Tokyo’s PlayStation Event and it is scheduled to hit the markets at the end of 2011 in holiday season. This looks great for Sony can beat out existing peer devices.
PSP 2 is running on a quad-core ARM Cortex A9 CPU with quad-core Imagination Technologies SGX543MP4+ GPU – the key for driving a games console, and sporting 5-inch touchscreen OLED display with 960 x 544 resolution, both front facing & rear cameras, dual analog sticks, Multiple Capacitive Touch Pads in the front, rear-mounted touchpad, built-n stereo speakers, microphone, 3-axis Gyroscope, 3-axis Accelerometer, 3-axis electronic compass, 3G, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth 2.1, built-in GPS and the users will be able to activate the PSP2′s wireless social sharing powers while they are using the game features.
The new PSP 2 is having flash-based storage medium to store games, as well as add-on content for games. PSP 2 is sporting a new UI called Live Arena, which allows the users to switch between games and other apps through Play Station Network on the device with an out-and-out comfort.
You’ll have a plenty of games to choose from when purchasing it like, Resistance, Killzone, Hot Shots Golf Next, Uncharted Portable, Little Big Planet, Wipeout, and Hustle Kings. Check out more images after the break.
