HTC 7 Trophy

It looks like, Microsoft is planning to all their Windows Phone 7 products on CDMA networks. On February 24th, HTC Arrive (a rebranded HTC 7 Pro) has been launched on Sprint networks. Microsoft has launched WP7 handsets on GSM-only networks late last year. Now Microsoft is readying to launch first Windows Phone 7 handset on Verizon Wireless.

Various rumors are suggesting that Verizon will introduce the HTC 7 Trophy as its first Windows Phone 7 device for $200, provided you sign a new two-year contract. The HTC 7 Trophy has been branded as a “low-end” WP7 device. Verizon’s first WP7 handset will arrive in late March around the same time as Sprint’s HTC Arrive launch.

It is being heard that both Sprint and Verizon handsets will be launching with Microsoft’s “NoDo” update. “NoDo” is Microsoft’s first major update and will preinstalled the highly anticipated copy and paste feature. This update will also improve application’s start-up and resume times.

The device will sport a 3.8-inch WVGA capacitive touch screen display along with 802.11 Wi-Fi b/g/n, 16GB storage, Bluetooth 2.1, and equipped with a 5 Megapixel camera with LED flash. The device is also a “world phone” and contains a quad-band GSM radio.

Verizon’s first Windows Phone 7 handset announcement is expected as early as February 28th, this coming Monday.
