BlackBerry PlayBook hit the markets on April 10th?

BGR folks hears from undisclosed multiple sources that RIM’s first tablet BlackBerry PlayBook will be available at retail locations April 10.

The BlackBerry Tablet OS will reach Gold Master status on March 31st and the users will be alerted to upgrade to a newer version of the OS upon first booting their device. RIM has announced the Playbook months ago and their device is still not out. but it is packing some notable high hardware specs.

BlackBerry PlayBook is running on BlackBerry Tablet OS with support for symmetric multiprocessing, A9 dual-core 1GHz processor, sporting 7” LCD capacitive touch screen with 1024 x 600 pixel of resolution, 1 GB RAM, 16GB, 32GB and 64GB versions, 3 MP front facing, 5 MP rear facing cameras, supports 1080p HD video recording, Wi-Fi – 802.11 a/b/g/n, support for WebKit/HTML-5, Adobe Flash Player 10.1, Adobe Mobile AIR, 5300mAh battery and more.

Previously, we heard the rumours about the AT&T’s version of the PlayBook tablet that will launch in late March or early April and an LTE version will follow soon after the release of the 3G version. Various reports are suggesting that PlayBook will run Android apps. Sprint’s WiMax and HSPA+ (T-Mobile, AT&T) versioned PlayBooks also will be releasing in the future.

Price & Availability

If rumors are to be trusted, BlackBerry is fast readying its first tablet Playbook to be launched early next month on April 10th. It has been speculated that the Playbook will be launched with a price tag of USD 499.99, which is the same as that of the iPad 2.
