The Nikon Coolpix P500 offers wide-angle 36x (22.5-810mm equiv.) optical zoom lenses, 920K dot 3.0" LCD and record 1080p Full HD videos with one-touch operation. Similar to Nikon Coolpix P300, The P500 also features the company’s latest Expeed C2 dual image processor. Its 36x optical zoom can be used while in 1080p video capture mode too.
Nikon Coolpix P500 is having 12.1-megapixel back-illuminated CMOS sensor, F/3.5-5.7 aperture. It gives ultra 22.5mm wide-angle to 810mm super-telephoto coverage. It offers built-in HDMI connector, High ISO (approximately 3200) brightness sensitivity, Hybrid VR (Sensor-shift and Electronic Vibration Reduction), which reduces the effect of trembling camera and can be set simultaneously for further protection. the Coolpix 500 can shoot in slow or quick motion using recording speeds of nearly 240fps (QVGA). Multiple Continuous modes allow for up to 120 frames per second at reduced resolution. Movie modes include 1,920 x 1,080 Fine, 1,920 x 1,080, 1280 x 720, 960 x 540, and 640 x 480, all at 30fps. High speed options include 320 x 240 at 240 fps, 640 x 480 at 120 fps, 1,280 x 720 at 60 fps, and 1,920 x 1,080 at 15 fps.
ISO range is 160 to 3200. Nikon Coolpix P500 also featuring several improved scene modes including Advanced Night Portrait mode, Night Landscape mode, and Backlight high dynamic range (HDR) mode. In Backlight HDR mode, the P300 combines multiple shots at different exposures while Night Landscape mode combines multiple shots taken with a faster shutter speed for reduced noise and improved tonal range throughout the photo. Nikon Coolpix P500 is having SD, SDHC, and SDXC cards capability, built-in memory of 102MB. The Nikon P500 uses a slim 3.7V, 1100mAh lithium-ion EN-EL5 battery, capable of capturing up to 220 shots, or about 1 hour and 20 minutes of 1080p HD video recording.
