HTC EVO 3D Goes Official At CTIA Event

Sprint carrier has launched its first 3D capable Android powered smartphone, HTC EVO 3D at CTIA 2011 event in Orlando.

The EVO 3D runs with Android 2.3 Gingerbread OS with HTC Sense on a 1.2GHz dual-core Qualcomm 8660 processor, sporting a 4.3-inch qHD 960 x 450-pixel autostereoscopic 3D display (glasses-less), packed with 1GB of RAM, a WiMAX radio, a 1730 mAh battery and 4GB of internal storage, micro-SD card slot for memory expansion up to 32GB, equipped with a dedicated camera button, featuring dual 5-megapixel rear cameras for shooting 3D video or 720p HD video and 1080p HD video in 2D. There’s also a 1.3-megapixel front-facing camera for Qik video chat, also featuring HDMI-out port will allow users to display 1080p video or 720p 3D content on an HDTV.

The HTC EVO 3D will be pre-installed with Blockbuster 3D and YouTube 3D apps for viewing 3D content on its screen, which does not require 3D glasses, and it is having 3G/4G Mobile Hotspot capability, supporting up to eight Wi-Fi enabled devices simultaneously, 3G, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, Android Market, and a full host of Google, HTC & Sprint services. EVO 3D’s display can be switched between 2D and 3D, like LG’s Optimus 3D aka LG Thrill 4G.
