Samsung Finnish website has officially confirmed that company will be rolling out the Android 2.3 Gingerbread update for the Galaxy S smartphone sometime in the middle of this month, April. The UK carrier Three has also confirmed via its Twitter feed that the Gingerbread fix will roll out for Galaxy S in the coming weeks.
Here is the tweet by Three UK:
Previously, Android 2.3.2 build has already leaked out for the Galaxy S i9000 variant. Unfortunately, there is no word about when the U.S. based Galaxy S handsets will get the Android 2.3 Gingerbread update. Many Galaxy S smartphones in the U.S. are still stuck at Android 2.1 Eclair and some are having Froyo only.
