At a press event in Tokyo, Sony has officially introduced its first tablet Sony S1, which is a PlayStation certified Android powered tablet.
Sony S1 comes with the tablet optimized operating system – Android 3.0 Honeycomb, skinned with customized "Quick and Smooth" touch panel UI with "Swift" web browser, running on a NVIDIA Tegra 2 chip, having a 9.4-inch display, Qriocity streaming service, and the PlayStation suite for gaming, DLNA functionality, Wi-Fi, 3G/4G compatibility, cloud-based services, Reader Store, Android Market and more. The tablet also has both front and rear facing cameras.
Sony S1 with a curved top much design like a folded magazine and it works as infrared remote for the company’s TVs (say BRAVIA).
Price & Availability
Sony S1 media tablet will be launched this “fall.” There is no official word on price info yet. But according to the sources, it might be shipped with a price tag of $599. Check out the more images after the break.
