Qik Video Connect mobile video calling app for all Android powered devices (that have a front camera) to download from Android Market now, which brings support for live video chat with friends over the Android phones and iPhones. This is a new version of Qik for Android and an update to the latest Qik iPhone app. Now you can push the live video chats to the world anywhere over the 3G, 4G and Wi-Fi connections. Previously, Qik app was only available as a pre-installed part of software, like T-Mobile branded HTC myTouch 4G and Sprint branded EVO 4G.

A recent acquistion by Skype, Qik has updated its video calling software, allowing the Android users to make the high resolution video calls (VGA) between Android and iOS handsets. Users can share the live videos to Facebook, Twitter, and other social networks. The app will let you know that who is available for live video call from your handset’s contact list. Users can make VGA quality video calls over Wi-Fi connection on Samsung Galaxy Tab, Samsung Galaxy S, Samsung Galaxy Player devices.

Qik for Android offers improved battery life, smoother video and better picture quality. Qik writes that Qik Video Connect is the only app to support video mail. Video mail service will be available for Free up to June 1st and then the subscription fee will be charged, but receiving video mail services will be free of cost, no subscription fee will be raising up later. Anyhow, subscription fee details haven’t been disclosed yet.
