Back in February at MWC 2011, the Samsung Galaxy S II has been officially launched, but there is no official word about which carrier will launch it in the U.S. According to a leaked silicon gel accessory page for Galaxy S II on the Wireless Xcessories Group website, this highly anticipated phone will be launching on AT&T, Sprint and Verizon Wireless in the U.S. with unique names.
According to the source, the Galaxy S II variants for the U.S. – AT&T will launch it as Samsung Attain, Sprint as Samsung Within, and Verizon Wireless will be holding it on the Samsung Function name. No information on T-Mobile’s variant though. The source also hasn’t specified the possible U.S. release date for Galaxy S II.
Samsung Galaxy S II packs an upgraded dual-core 1.2Ghz CPU, an eight megapixel camera with dual-LED flash, a 4.27-inch Super AMOLED Plus touchscreen, 1GB RAM, record and play back 1080p full HD video, 2MP front facing camera. It is also having integrated NFC support (on some versions), super-fast HSPA+ connectivity, 3-axis gyroscopic sensor, 3G, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 3.0, 1650mAh battery, 16GB/ 32GB storage options, Kies Air and four types of Hubs – Social Hub Premium, Readers Hub, Games Hub and Music Hub.
