Late yesterday, Gingerbread ROM file has leaked online for HTC Thunderbolt smartphone, but it wasn’t flashable. A guy named Justin Case has made some changes to it, and released the flashable Gingerbread ROM, and you can download it from below. The release of this matches up perfectly to the news HTC broke through us back in March that Android 2.3 would be rolling out Thunderbolt owners before the end of Q2 of this year, that means before the end of June.
The guys who want to try this Gingerbread ROM on their Thunderbolt handsets, should note a thing that camera will not work after flashing this ROM. This ROM works for rooted devices only.
Instructions
Rename PG05IMG_gingerradio.zip to PG05IMG.zip –> Copy it onto the root of your SD Card –> Place mecha_gingerjane.zip onto the root of your SD Card –> Boot into recovery –> Do a Nandroid Backup –> Perform a factory reset –> Flash mecha_gingerjane.zip –> Reboot to bootloader using ADB –> Switch to bootloader mode and allow the updated radios to flash –> Finish.
- If the zip you downloaded from above is version 1.2, you’ll also have to flash this file to fix activation. Head over to the source link below for full fledged instructions regarding this Gingerbread ROM for Thunderbolt handsets.
