Sprint branded HTC EVO 4G owned owners must have been waiting for Android 2.3 Gingerbread update. Well now they don’t need to wait for longer. The webpage of HTC EVO 4G on Sprint’s website is suggesting that Sprint will rolling out the Android 2.3 gingerbread update as soon as possible. Sprint has recently updated the webpage of EVO 4G handset as “Ships with Android 2.3” at the specs part, and we can also see “featuring Android 2.3” in the description part, and mentioned in two other separate parts.
So there is no doubt that the new orders of HTC EVO 4G will be shipping with Android 2.3 Gingerbread pre-loaded on it as soon as later at some time in this week. Hopefully, Sprint might be also rolling out the Android 2.3 Gingerbread update for the owners as soon as possible who are already rocking the HTC EVO 4G handsets.
The Gingerbread ROM has already leaked for the HTC EVO 4G in April, bringing the several improvements, along with the Gingerbread update. It would be safe if you stay away from this leaked ROM. But don’t panic, Sprint should be readying the Gingerbread update for your loving EVO 4G beasts in one or two days.

False alarm. Sprint admitted a “typo” to putting up that the Evo 4g would ship with Android 2.3. We’ll keep waiting….
