Toshiba Thrive Honeycomb Tablet Priced At $449 (8GB), $579 (32GB)

Toshiba Honeycomb Tablet

Toshiba has showed off its first Honeycomb powered tablet at CES in January, and hasn’t announced the tablet’s exact name yet. A few months ago, we’ve seen that Egg website has updated the webpage of this Toshiba tablet on ‘ANT’ name, and now they’ve listed the Toshiba Tablet with ‘Coming Soon’ tag. Recently, the U.S. based retailer J&R has started offering the pre-orders for the 10-inch Toshiba tablet and named it as “Thrive”. We guess that ‘Thrive’ could be the real name of the Toshiba Honeycomb tablet. The website has listed it for pre-order at $449.99 for 8GB variant, and the 32GB variant was listed at a price of $579.99. The $579 price tag for the 32 GB model will be slightly cheaper than the MSRP for the Wi-Fi only edition of Motorola Xoom tablet, which is now available for $599.99 with 32GB storage.

According to the webpage, Toshiba Thrive tablet comes with Android 3.0 Honeycomb filled on it, powered by dual-core Tegra 2 processor, 1GB RAM, 5 megapixel camera around its back to record video in HD, and an additional 2 megapixel front-facing camera for video calling, USB 2.0, HDMI port, micro-SD card port for memory expansion support. It is also having a 10-inch LCD screen with 1280 x 800 pixels of resolution, stereo speakers with Toshiba sound enhancements, 7 hours of video playback.
