We are pretty sure that the the unannounced Motorola Droid 3 handset is definitely on its way to Verizon Wireless. It has been teasing us since the last three months, and it has recently benchmarked at NenaMark website. A few days ago, some more excited details of Droid 3 handset have emerged online. According to the previous leaks, Droid 3 should be having the latest Android 2.3 Gingerbread, a five row QWERTY keyboard, Texas (OMAP4430) dual-core 1GHz processor, PowerVR SGX540 GPU, and confirmed to be having qHD screen with 960 x 540 pixels.
But, the fresh sources are suggesting that Droid 3 might be shipping with the out-dated Android 2.2 Froyo mobile platform. According to leaked a screenshot of Verizon’s inventory system, the Droid 3 handset won’t be shipping with Gingerbread. We can guess that a Gingerbread update should be rolled out for the Droid 3 handset, if it really comes with Froyo pre-installed on it. A couple of days ago, Verizon has just started rolling out the Gingerbread update for the Droid X, and the new Motorola Droid X 2 is on its way to get the Gingerbread update very soon. June month has been rumored as the release window of Droid 3.
The sources are also confirming that the Motorola Droid 3 is believed to be having HDMI port, an 8 megapixel camera with LED flash around its back, a front-facing 1.3 megapixel camera to make video calls, but unfortunately, Droid 3 won’t be having the 4G LTE radio inside it.
