A few days ago, Microsoft has announced its partnership with Acer and has promised to release a mobile handset which will feature a pre-installed new Windows Phone ‘Mango’ update. Today at Computex 2011 event, the new Acer W4 handset has been put up for display and it is running on the new Windows Phone 7 Mango operating system. This prototype device is having a glossy blueish plastic material on its back, and sporting the same curvy design as that of the Acer Liquid series.
Acer A4 will be sporting a 3.6-inch capacitive touch screen with WVGA resolution of 480 x 800 pixels, powered by a Qualcomm MSM8255 application processor clocked at 1GHz, equipped with 5 megapixel camera with auto focus, quad-band GSM radio and support for HSPA 850/1900 or 900/2100 /GSM quad band 850/900/ 1800/ 1900 MHz, DLNA functionality, Bluetooth 2.1, Wi-Fi connectivity, 8GB onboard storage and more.
The phone’s 1GHz Qualcomm MSM8255 is the same chipset that also was used in the Sony Ericsson Xperia Play handset, which was launched on Verizon network recently.
