Huawei MediaPad To Be Launched On June 20th

Chinese telecom equipment maker Huawei has announced its plans to unveil a new tablet PC to be called “Huawei MediPad” at the CommunicAsia 2011 show in Hongkong to be held from June 21st to June 24th. The tablet is expected to run on Android (Honeycomb?).

Huawei claims it to be a smarter, smaller and lighter tablet aimed at providing the user with maximum entertainment experience. Given that Huawei has already been making budget phones (IDEOS branded) running on Android, it is inevitable that the company will make its entry into tablet market sooner or later. All that we have now is a promotional picture of the tablet pictured along with a tea cup and a watch from Huawei, at least better than what ASUS had showed about its Padfone before the launch. We expect the device to be a 7-inch (judging from the press shot) and run on Android Honeycomb (as we couldn’t find any buttons on the tablet) .

We are looking forward to the tablet’s official launch on June 20 (that’s just 15 days from now) at CommunicAsia expo 2011 event to get to know about the specifications and other details.
