A few days ago, AT&T has rolled out the announcement of the low-range spec’d sliding out QWERTY keyboard-equipped Android powered Pantech Crossover handset. As promised earlier, the Pantech Crossover handset is now available to purchase at AT&T stores with a price tag of $69.99 on a two-year contract, and it will cost $419.99 without any contract. AT&T calls the phone “perfect for first-time smartphone users”. This is not a “rugged” phone like Casio’s G’zOne Commando, which meets military standards for resistance to the elements.
The Pantech Crossover handset features 3.1-inch touchscreen display, a 3 Megapixel camera with camcorder, GPS support and a micro-SD card slot for memory expansion up to 32GB, A 2GB micro-SD card is pre-installed, with the popular AllSport GPS app, which offers the users workout tracking, maps, a calorie counter and other features. Equipped with a full physical QWERTY keyboard for quick messaging, it runs on the Android 2.2 Froyo OS, powered by a 600MHz processor. It supports quad-band GSM and tri-band UMTS/HSPA networks as well as Wi-Fi 802.11b/g/n connectivity support for AT&T Mobile Hotspot, allowing users to share 3G connection with up to five Wi-Fi enabled devices. It comes with 1500mAh battery providing up to five hours of talk time and 360 hours of standby time.

You can now buy the Pantech Crossover handset at the AT&T’s retail stores across the U.S. for as low as $69.99 and the takers should be signing a two-year contract with the carrier. You can also buy it for $419.99 without needing to sign any contract with the carrier.
