BlackBerry PlayBook was the first tablet to get a tablet-centric Facebook app, as announced by Research In Motion during the BlackBerry World 2011 during May. We’ve already reported about the availability of the app from the BlackBerry App World page. We’re now seeing another minor OS update that updates the Facebook app along with bunch of other future enhancements.
The new BlackBerry PlayBook Tablet OS v1.0.5 update, which will be released as “Over-The-Air” update to all the BlackBerry PlayBook tablet owners will have new updated Facebook app with vast changes. The new features list seems to be too long. Changes include enhanced video uploading right from the tablet, new in-app payment system which is already available in Android and iOS platforms, enhanced battery charging feature through which you can quickly turn off or restart or move it into stand mode by the tablet just by touching the battery icon on the homescreen and the tablet can now alert you when you plug in a wrong charger to the device. The update has added support for 6 additional languages including Dutch, French, German, Italian, Spanish and UK English. The update also brings better video chat connectivity, headset audio boost, Wi-Fi hotspot detection etc.
The update has been rolled out starting today and will be available as OTA update to the users in the coming weeks. Hit the source link after the break for full list of changes in the BlackBerry Tablet OS 1.0.5.
