Well mobile phone carriers these days are really smart. They release a handset, get the feedback and release an update to fix any issues that are affecting the users. We’ve already heard that T-Mobile is going to issue a fix for their buggy software on their G2X and Verizon is gearing up to issue a maintenance release software update to fix the random rebooting issue on the HTC Thunderbolt. And now we are hearing news about another such update aimed at bug fixes in the Verizon Samsung Droid Charge.
Verizon has yesterday announced a new software update for Samsung Droid Charge, the second 4G LTE capable phone launched on Verizon Wireless. As per the released document, the carrier will be rolling a new software update EE4 via Over-The-Air (OTA). The update change log is pretty much long but the important feature enhancements as far as we can see are the 3G/4G LTE connectivity, enhanced GPS and hotspot capabilities.
Download The Software Update EE4:
The EE4 software update for Samsung Droid Charge has already started rolling out to random users. Keep checking your notification area for any notification about the new software update. When the update is available for your handset, press “Install Now” button. The device will now restart and the installation process will begin. Let the phone download the update fully (it is 9.9MB in size). Then go to Home > Menu > Settings > About Phone > System updates. Choose “Restart & install” button. The phone will now restart and the installation of the update will continue.
While we still await the Android 2.3 Gingerbread update for the Droid Charge, let’s know if you have received this minor software update EE4. Did you notice any improvements?

Just got the update for my wife and I. The update seems to have a huge improvement on the GPS. Foursquare works like how it should, or I would say like how it was when I had the iPhone 4. Happy with that and hoping to see how well the battery lasts today.
Mobile hotspot is up and running again, hopefully they’ll extend the free to another month since this mishap occured about 2 weeks ago.
