Back in May, we reported about a new high-end smartphone from Samsung for T-Mobile, to be known as Samsung Hercules. If you could recollect, this is the same mobile phone that earlier appeared in the T-Mobile’s 2011 road map with the expected release date as “September 26” in the US. Well, though we didn’t have any official updates about the release date since then, new rumors are suggesting that it could very well be launching on the same date as expected.
A plausible September release means that the device is going to join the elite club of high-end devices like the Samsung Galaxy S II (US variants), the Motorola Droid Bionic and the iPhone 5 which are expected to be launched in the same month.
T-Mobile’s Samsung Hercules is one beast of a smartphone with a huge 4.5-inch Super AMOLED display (bigger than that of the Samsung Galaxy S II), running Android 2.3 Gingerbread on a powerful 1.2GHz Qualcomm dual-core APQ8060 processor, 1GB RAM, 16GB ROM, support for T-Mobile’s HSPA+ network with support for speeds up to 42Mbps, an 8 megapixel camera with 1080p HD video recording capability, a front-facing camera for video chats, microSD support for memory expansion up to 32GB, Bluetooth, Wi-Fi and HDMI-out.
