It looks like this is a great season for T-Mobile customers. A Pilot Test program of Gingerbread update for a limited number of users of the T-Mobile myTouch 4G handsets has already started. Now, we just came to know that the Android 2.3.3 Gingerbread update is also available for the T-Mobile LG G2x handsets. The build number and software version of the latest update for the T-Mobile G2x are GRI40 and V21e respectively. The latest software update V21e can be downloaded through LG Mobile Software Updater. As this tool is Windows only, you need a PC which is running Windows OS to download the update. Actually, there has been an announcement on LG Forums, that the Gingerbread update for LG G2x is scheduled to roll out this summer. But later, the update is made available to download right after the announcement. Finally, the T-Mobile G2x should now be free of the unknown bugs that hassled it for so long.
T-Mobile G2X handsets’ owners should note that the if they’ve a rooted device, they are going to lose it, if they decide to upgrade their handset to this latest ROM. There is still no official word from both LG and T-Mobile, whether or not an over-the-air (OTA) Gingerbread update will be rolled out for the T-Mobile G2x . The whole update is 178.19MB in size.
