We are seeing more news on the U.S. based Samsung Galaxy S II variants for a while now. An handset, tagged with model number SPH-D710 has recently passed the FCC regulations, and fortunately, it is said to be the Sprint’s version of Samsung Galaxy S II, which is also known as “Samsung Within”. But we can’t be sure of that until Sprint takes the responsibility for making an announcement of the brand name of its exclusive G S II handset. It clearly matches up with leaked Samsung Within handset’s images, which were leaked out online a couple of weeks ago, and it has WiMAX 4G connectivity on the board. The manufacturer, and the carrier have yet to announced official launch details, and the price info of the Samsung Within handset. We expect Samsung to release the Galaxy S 2 on every major US carrier eventually, but this is the first sign of one being in FCC fillings that we’ve seen. We already knew that the most carriers will have it here by the end of August or so.
Coming to specs, Sprint branded Samsung Within handset will be having all the same specs, and packed with the same goodies of the original Galaxy S II – Android 2.3 Gingerbread OS, featuring a 4.3-inch Super AMOLED Plus display, 8MP camera with 1080p HD video recording, 2MP front-facing camera to make video calls, a powerful 1.2GHz super fast processor, Samsung Hub, Bluetooth 3.0, micro-SD card slot for memory expansion up to 32GB, GPS, Portable Wi-Fi hotspot capability, Super-fast 4G speeds, 1700mAh battery, and a whole host of Google & Sprint services.

You might be aware of that Galaxy S II is also heading to Verizon as “Samsung Function”, and AT&T is said to be having two versions of Galaxy S II handset – one with QWERTY keyboard, while the other variant will be shipped, sans the QWERTY keyboard, and the one version is rumored to be branded as “Samsung Attain”. T-Mobile customers will be missing out the fun here, and if everything goes well, they will soon get their hands on the unannounced high-end spec’d Samsung Hercules handset.
