Earlier, Motorola has announced that Verizon branded Motorola Xoom 3G would receive the Android 3.2 Honeycomb update in the “coming weeks”, and a few hours ago, we heard about the Soak test of the Android 3.2 Honeycomb update for Motorola Xoom 3G tablet. The Wi-Fi Xoom model, as well as the Asus Eee Pad Transformer tablets have already been upgraded (1), (2) to Android 3.2 Honeycomb version. Now, it’s time for Verizon branded Motorola Xoom 3G tablets’ owners to get excited. Verizon has posted the PDF page regarding the latest update for Xoom 3G tablet on its support website, so we can say that the update is practically finalized, and it is leading us to believe the carrier is getting closer to unleash some Android 3.2 goodness onto the masses. We are also expecting that the carrier will start pushing out the Android 3.2 Honeycomb update starting tomorrow, August 3rd. The new software carries the version number HTJ85, and weighs in at 15.4MB.
Once you’re Xoom 3G blessed with the wonderfulness of the new update HTJ85, it will be upgraded to Android 3.2 OS, and a bunch of bug fixes. You can find the full list of changes below.

If you haven’t automatically received the update yet, you might want to manually check for it via the Settings Menu –> Settings –> About Tablet –> System Updates –> and tap Install Now button –> Reboot. This process should initiate the latest software upgrade process of Android 3.2 Honeycomb update, and follow the on-screen instructions to finish the update process in approximately in 10 to 15 minutes. Don’t panic, if the update doesn’t hit your tablet in the first try, you’ll probably receive it in the next few hours. We’ll let you know as soon as the OTA update starts roll out.
