We’ve an awesome news for Android fanatics, especially for those who are eagerly waiting for the successor of the Galaxy S smartphone to arrive in the U.S. regions. Samsung has just begun sending out the invitations to the tech bloggers and press members for an event, which is going held on August 29th in New York. Look at the big “II” logo at the bottom side of the invitation touting a "major product announcement”. This hint is enough for us to decide that Samsung is going to unveil its Samsung Galaxy S II variants for the U.S. carriers. Moreover, the invite image itself is named "Galaxy_S_II_Invite_v2.jpg," For the records, Samsung has sold 5 million units in just three months after its launch. Unfortunately, the Samsung has had the Galaxy S II on sale outside the US for several months now.
According to the rumors, Sprint is gearing up to release the Samsung Galaxy S II under the moniker Samsung Epic Touch 4G or Samsung Epic 4G Touch. Sprint’s variant is also rumored to be called Samsung Within. The brand names of Galaxy S II model for Verizon and AT&T are still mysterious to the tech world, though we heard “Stratosphere”, “Function” codenames for Verizon, and “Attain” for AT&T. T-Mobile is also expected to launch a Galaxy S II variant with a slight change of the display panel – the 4.5 inch Samsung Hercules.
The international version of the Samsung Galaxy S II sports 4.3” Super AMOLED Plus display, 8.49mm thin body, 1.2GHz dual-core processor, an 8 megapixel camera with dual-LED flash, 1GB RAM, record and play back 1080p full HD video, 2MP front facing camera. It is also having integrated NFC support (on some versions), super-fast HSPA+ connectivity, 3-axis gyroscopic sensor, 3G, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 3.0, 1650mAh battery, 16GB/ 32GB storage options, Kies Air and four types of Hubs – Social Hub Premium, Readers Hub, Games Hub, Music Hub, and much more including Android Market, a whole host of the Google services.
