Google’s next generation Nexus branded Android is definitely on its way, but there is no official word about what brand name will be fixed for this handset yet. Various trusted sources have been suggesting that “Prime” is rumored to be the device codename being tossed by Google for the upcoming Nexus handset. It looks like the launch date of the Nexus Prime handset is drawing near. A source from Electronic Times has reported that Samsung will manufacturer the Nexus Prime and the handset is slated to hit the markets in early October.
According the source, the Nexus Prime will will be backed up by a powerful 1.5GHz dual-core application processor, features a “monster” 4.5-inch AMOLED “HD” display at 1280 X 720 pixels of resolution with Pentile technology. The source also claims that the next Nexus phone will be shipping pre-installed with the next version of Android OS – Ice Cream Sandwich (v4.0). Other technical specification details of the Nexus Prime handset are still mysterious to us. Earlier we heard that Google is working with multiple carriers and OEMs on their own iterations of Android Ice Cream Sandwich phones to be launched alongside the upcoming next generation Nexus phone.
