A couple of days back, Samsung has introduced fours new Android handsets of Galaxy portfolio – Galaxy W, Galaxy Y, Galaxy M Pro and Galaxy Y Pro. A few hours ago, we also learned that Samsung plans to launch three new devices Galaxy Tab 7.7, Galaxy Note and Wave 3 devices at IFA event this year. According to the folks over SammyHub, the manufacturer is also intending to bring a high-end spec’d super fast Android phone, which is probably the LTE version of the Samsung Galaxy S II at the same event. So we will be seeing all the aforementioned Samsung handsets showcased at this year’s IFA 2011 in Berlin next week.
The LTE version of the Samsung Galaxy S II will be sporting the same specifications, except a few important changes. It will be having a 4.5-inch Super AMOLED Plus display (Galaxy S II has got a 4.3” display), a super fast dual-core 1.5GHz processor (1.2GHz SoC for G S II), 8 megapixel camera, NFC functionality, a 1850mAh battery.
We are not ware of the brand name for the LTE version of the Galaxy S II handset. Earlier, we heard a a couple of brand names like Samsung Galaxy S Plus and Samsung Celox. We heard that Celox will be sporting 800MHz frequencies, but not the 700MHz radio. So the 4G radio on the Celox is tuned to 800MHz which is a frequency used in Europe and not in the U.S. where Verizon uses 700MHz for its LTE service. AT&T is also set to launch its LTE network with 700MHz frequencies support by the end of this year. Unfortunately, Verizon pass up the long-awaited handset Galaxy S II for this year. Yes, according to the sources, they do not plan to carry the Galaxy S II and we don’t know the reasons.
