HTC has recently released the Android 2.3 Gingerbread update for the HTC DROID Incredible 2 handset on the Verizon wireless and the Taiwanese manufacturer earlier promised that it would bring the Gingerbread update to the HTC Thunderbolt on Verizon by the end of September. Well, if you are a owner of the HTC Thunderbolt, you need not wait anymore and can now flash your Thunderbolt with the new Gingerbread ROM that has just been leaked.
Android Police (that received the file from an anonymous tipster) has released the official Gingerbread update RUU (2.11.605.2) along with instructions to flash your device. Well, we have seen Gingerbread ROM leaks for the Thunderbolt earlier, but with the official roll out date inching closer, we can safely conclude that this could most probably be the final build of the Gingerbread update.
If you can’t resist the temptation of the Gingerbread, you can download the leaked Gingerbread ROM build from the this link and have some fun with it. But as usual, there are some things that you need to keep in mind.
1. Flashing this ROM will wipe all the data on your phone (and sometimes may brick your device if there is any error while flashing).
2. If you have rooted your phone before, you will loose the root once you flash it with this leaked RUU.
Head over to the source link to flash the leaked Gingerbread build (with instructions) on your HTC Thunderbolt.
