Samsung has just announced the launch of its Dual-Hinge messaging phone, Samsung Zeal equipped with an E Ink Transforming QWERTY Keypad in flip style format. Verizon is making it available to purchase for $79.99 from November 11th.
Specs wise and looks wise, it looks exactly same as Samsung Alias 2. This is not running Android 2.1 OS for at least, wondering why Samsung made it.
Samsung Zeal features 2.6″ (240×320 pixels) QVGA TFT display that can be opened in portrait or in landscape mode, 2 megapixel camera with auto focus & camcorder, Bluetooth, and a microSD card slot support for 32GB expansion, EVDO and more.
Dual-hinge form factor with E Ink keyboard that changes based on needs of the user. You can open it vertically as a flip phone and it also has a traditional numeric keypad and can change to an alpha-only keypad. In landscape, the phone features a QWERTY keypad that can change to numeric with symbols. The phone is also coming with corporate e-mail support for Microsoft Office exchange.
Samsung Zeal comes with Social Beat widget which allows the users to stay connected to Facebook, Twitter and MySpace and entertainment feeds. It also features VZ Navigator and Skype Mobile capabilities.
