Asus has started teasing the next generation Transformer tablet in a teaser video and a few hours ago, Asus chairman Johnny Shih has revealed out the details of the Transformer 2 tablet and it will be called as Transformer Prime. At AsiD event,  Johnny has confirmed that the Asus transformer prime will be equipped with NVidia quad-core Kal-El Tegra 3 platform based processor and it will be a mere 8.3mm in profile, sporting a 10.1-inch screen form factor, USB and mini-HDMI ports, an SD card slot for memory expansion support and it is said to be providing 14-hour battery life. He also noted that the tablet will run the new Android Ice Cream Sandwich OS, which was designed for use in both phones and tablets. As showed in the teaser video, the Asus transformer Prime will be having a detachable keyboard, which transforms it into a full-fledged netbook.

Johnny Shih has also confirmed that they will be rolling out the newly unveiled Ice Cream Sandwich OS for their existing Honeycomb OS powered tablet by the end of this year. Asus Padfone, which is a combination tablet and phone is also coming around early next year after carrier testing and U.S. wireless certification from the FCC.
