Nokia Lumia 800 Gets Announced Officially; The ‘First Real Windows Phone’

Finally, the moment has arrived for the Nokia fans who have eagerly waiting for the Windows Phone from the Finnish mobile makers. Nokia has officially unveiled one of its first Windows Phone, the Nokia Lumia 800, describing it as “stylish and smart.” This handset is also known as Nokia Sea Ray and Nokia 800. We’ve already seen this device over four months ago when we first got a glimpse at the Nokia SeaRay and more details on specs part and leaked images, teaser ads have already leaked online. According to Nokia CEO, Stephen Elop, Nokia Lumia 800 is also being described by Nokia as “first real Windows Phone.”

We already have a very good idea on the specs part of the Nokia Lumia 800. It has the same 3.7-inch ClearBlack AMOLED display at 480 X 800 pixels of resolution, runs the new Windows Phone 7.5 Mango OS, 8 megapixel camera with a dedicated camera button for f/2.2 Carl Zeiss Tessar lens, there’s a single-core Qualcomm Snapdragon MSM8255 processor, packs 512 RAM, a free 25GB of SkyDrive storage, 16GB internal storage, Nokia’s voice-guided turn-by-turn navigation system Nokia Drive, Nokia Music with Mix Radio, A-GPS, 802.11 Wi-Fi b/g/n. 3.5mm headset jack, Bluetooth 2.1, A-GPS, micro-USB connector, a 1450mAh battery and there will be Marketplace Hub, Zune services, Xbox Live Games, Office Hub, Music Hub plus all the Mango services. Lumia 800 handset is a quad-band GSM device with 14.4Mbps HSDPA speeds.

Nokia Lumia 800 comes pre-installed with a global service with no subscriptions for “hundreds of channels of locally-relevant music,” an ESPN Sports Hub, which is a feature that you won’t find on any other Windows Phone. The LTE and CDMA versions are also coming to specific local markets later in early 2012.

Price & Availability

The Nokia Lumia 800 handset will start shipping from November in the UK, France, Spain, Germany, Italy, or the Netherlands. Press release haven’t covered the details about U.S. release. Hong Kong, India, Russia, Singapore and Taiwan get it before the end of the year and additional regions will get the handset in early 2012.
