Microsoft brought its pseudo-smartphones Kin ONEm and TWOm back to Verizon Wireless again. These two were already launched back in late-June, named Kin ONE & Kin TWO, but this time they are coming after 5 months with “m” appendage to their names and with better price tags.
The new Kin ONEm and Kin TWOm cost $19.99 and $49.99 respectively with a signed two-year contract. And without a contract, Kin ONEm is selling for $120 and TWOm at $220 as standard prices. The Kin Two is also subject to Verizon’s “buy one, get up to 3 select phones free” promotion, again with a two-year activation per phone.
Both devices sport capacitive touch screen displays and slide-out QWERTY keyboards. The Kin ONEm and TWOm pack 5 megapixel and 8 megapixel cameras, respectively. These devices aren’t smartphones since they don’t seem to have much computing power or even an app Store for that matter. Both the Kin devices ONEm & TWOm are integrated with the Zune music service, Bing service integration for Bing search and Bing maps.
Kin ONEm sports a 2.6” TFT capacitive touch display, portrait slide out QWERTY Keyboard, 5 Megapixels camera with auto-focus & Lumi-LED flash, Wi–Fi (802.11 b/g), 3.5mm Audio Jack, 4GB internal storage, HTML Browser, and fast access to social networks (Facebook, MySpace, Twitter).
KIN TWOm sports a 3.4” TFT capacitive touchscreen display, Slide–out QWERTY Keyboard, 8 Megapixel camera with HD Video recording capability, Wi–Fi, 8GB internal memory, and social networking access (Facebook, MySpace, Twitter) via web browser.
Both phones does not support an expandable memory port and supports Dual Band CDMA2000 1xRTT / 1xEVDO Rev. A (800/1900 MHz).
