A few weeks ago, Motorola announced a pair of new Xoom tablets, the Motorola Xoom 2 and Motorola Xoom 2 Media Edition. Recently, we also reported that Verizon is bringing these tablets to the U.S. on November 30th and both these tablets listed on the Verizon Roadmap as Moto 8” Tablet and Moto 10” Tablet. Interestingly, Pocketnow is now claiming they got a word that Verizon is prepping to launch Motorola Xoom 2 and Motorola Xoom 2 Media Edition as DROID Xyboard 10.1 and DROID Xyboard 8.2 respectively. The source is also mentioning that the Verizon has already applied for trademark protection on "Xyboard" in October.
Until we hear more about these new branding names, let us remind you what the new Xooms should bring: Both Xooms have dual core 1.2GHz TI processors, 5-megapixel main camera in addition to a 1.3-megapixel front-facer, 1GB of RAM, have 16GB internal flash storage, and will be launch preinstalled with Android 3.2 Honeycomb OS. Motorola Xoom 2 aka Droid Xyboard 10.1 sports 10.1-inch HD display with 1280 X 720 pixels of resolution and Motorola Xoom 2 Media Edition aka Droid Xyborad 8.2 sports 8.2-inch HD display.
